About the author

Randy Hice is STARLIMS’s Director of Strategic Consulting, and a 25 year veteran of the laboratory informatics industry. Randy’s team at STARLIMS specializes in global LIMS deployments, multi-site workflow analysis, and complex harmonization activities.

Readers of Scientific Computing who have followed Randy’s exploits since 1996 are continually shocked to find he is still alive after being attacked by bee swarms, dodging imploding windows in the face of a tornado, ducking gunfire from competing gangs, agitating vicious alligators, cliff diving in Jamaica, bailing out of moving cars, high speed ski and mountain bike crashes, eating still moving sushi, demolishing untold cars, and surviving the premature detonation of numerous homemade high explosives as a teenager.

Then again, he also has a wild side that he brings to the STARLIMS blog. Randy’s rants, raves, insights, and generally outrageous opinions drawn from a life sentence in the informatics industry do elicit interesting responses—and whatever your opinion may be; we’re waiting to hear it.
